About us

The Department of Pediatrics with Medical Assessment is a place for short-term stay and assessment of patients suffering from acute infections and diseases. The main task of the Department is to identify and treat acute infections in children. Due to the possibility of isolating, children with suspected infectious diseases, generalized infections, and neurological infections, are admitted to the Department.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department mainly deals with treating children with the SARS-CoV-2 infection and the Pediatric Inflammatory Multisystem Syndrome Temporally Associated With SARS-CoV-2 (PIMS). 
Besides, the Department is a leading centre for research on this new disease entity and participates in developing new treatment guidelines.
